Whether you’re off to college or doing the morning school run, life’s about to get busy. Getting your skin to the top of the class. The best part: You only need 10 minutes to perfect your student skincare routine.

With the start of new beginnings comes the stress of juggling your morning skincare routine. And when time is of the essence, spending 30 minutes looking after yours truly is often the first thing to go. But your skin shouldn’t suffer simply because you have a million other things to do before getting out of the house by 8 am. Summer is coming to an end and the Autumn/winter season is here. It’s a great time to make a fresh start, and for those of you going back to a schedule packed with classes, extracurricular, work, and socializing, it’s also a great time to re-evaluate your skincare. It does not always take a lot of time and money for you keep your skin at its best state. Here’s a super simple student skincare routine — and some extras to add on as needed or desired. A good skincare routine doesn’t need to take more than 10 minutes. The results will make you happy any day.

And that’s exactly what we plan to do with this 10-minute super-speedy step-by-step skincare routine that’s short on time, but big on benefits. Because even the minimum amount of effort can make the world of difference to your skin and when you look good, you feel Good.

STEP 1- The 2 minute cleanse

cleansing your face when you wake helps to remove any toxins, dead skin cells and excess oils the skin may secrete overnight. Start strong by spending a good two minutes cleansing your face and neck. Cleansing is a great way to boost blood flow. Use a radiance boosting cleanser, massage the pads of your fingers over your skin in circular motions, then rinse with lukewarm water and gently pat dry with a clean towel.

STEP 2- Set 1 Minute for Toning

Toner removes any last traces of dirt. When it is added to your daily skincare routine and used regularly, it can have major positive impact on the appearance and tightness of your pores. In all honesty, 60 seconds is being generous. You could probably nail this step in 30.

STEP 3- The 2 Minute Serum

Many people wonder why they can’t just use a moisturizer or face cream on their skin in place of a serum. While there is no hard and fast rule, but Serums and moisturizers help the skin in different ways. Serums are thinner and lighter than moisturizers and have a greater variety of functions as they are packed with active ingredients. They greatly help as target solutions for your skin.

As soon as you’ve toned, apply your favourite treatment serum straight away, while your skin is still damp. This will help lock all the moisture and goodness into your skin. Dispense just two or three drops of serum to the pads of your fingers, then gently pat and press it evenly over your face and neck.

STEP 4- A Minute on The EYES!

Next, spend just a mere minute dabbing a moisturizing treatment around your eyes. Much better than slapping moisturizer all over the eye area which can be too heavy and cause puffiness. Using an under eye cream not only helps moisturize and soften the skin under the eyes but also works on concerns such as dark circles, puffiness, fine lines and wrinkles.

STEP 5- Chill for a Whole Minute and Take 30 Seconds extra

This is the best time in the entire process. The time to breathe and relax for a couple of minutes to allow your serum and eye cream to fully absorb into your skin. This is super important as it helps the products to seep into the skin and deliver best of their benefits.

STEP 6- Moisturize in 2 minutes

After a few minutes resting time, apply moisturizer to feed your skin with moisturizer. A good moisturize as per your skin type will help seal in hydration. Moisturizing everyday can reduce the chance of developing extreme dryness or oiliness. Both extremes are harmful for skin and cause common skin conditions like clogged pores or acne.

STEP 7- Take A minute and a Half for Final Touches

Great skincare means you shouldn’t need much makeup, but good news, you have a whole minute left to use as you please. SPF is vital, of course, so apply this first, then finish with lip balm, gloss, mascara or whatever you need to face the day.

Beyond physical health, cosmetics can help to improve our mood, enhance our appearance and boost our self-esteem. They can also help to exhibit personal style and, as such, are an important means of social expression. Beauty care soothes the symptoms of dryness and irritation, nourishing your skin, so it’s less vulnerable to damage, and you feel more comfortable. We spend most of our time working and taking care of others. But self-care isn’t a dirty word, and the few minutes we spend daily pampering our skin can be rejuvenating.
