Presidential candidate Nembang casts vote

Kathmandu: Presidential candidate Subas Chandra Nembang has cast his vote in the election to the post of President underway at the voting centre set up at Lhotse Hall of the Parliament Building, New Baneshwor.

Talking to journalists after casting his ballot, the CPN (UML) vice-chair Nembang said that he would function as the guardian of the citizens if he is elected the President. He also expressed commitment that he would not carry out activities that annoy the people if he is elected to the high post.

“I will not create hassles to the people by creating traffic jam in the name of VVIP convoy while travelling in town after my election to the post of President. This will not happen during my term in office. I will not do anything to bother the people, rather I will instill a sense of their guardian,” he said.

Voting is taking place at the separate voting centres set up at the Lhotse Hall for the federal Member of Parliament (MP) and the Province Assembly members. Another presidential candidate Nepali Congress senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel has already cast his vote. The voting that began at 10 am will run till 3pm today.
