
Kaski: Pokhara Metropolitan City has formed a probe committee to find out the cause of the school bus accident that took place this morning in Pokhara.
Two people died and 28 others were injured in the accident involving the bus of LP Devkota Memorial School. The probe committee was formed under the coordination of Hemprasad Acharya, chief of the education division of the metropolitan city.
Deputy Secretary of the PMC Krishna Prasad Tiwari, Metropolitan Police Force Chief Purushottam Thapa and Mechanical Engineer Saroj Chalise are the members of the committee. Education officer Ram Prasad Tiwari has been assigned as the member-secretary of the committee. Shyamakrishna Thapa, the chief administrative officer of the metropolis, said that the committee has been instructed to investigate the cause of the accident, the condition of the vehicle, the condition of the driver, the number of students on the bus, etc.
A 33-year-old school office assistant Aarti BK and her six-year-old son Prince BK died in the accident. They died during treatment at Gandaki Medical College today. The bus driver, a teacher, a parent and 25 injured students are currently undergoing treatment in various hospitals in Pokhara.
Dhanraj Acharya, Mayor of Pokhara Metropolitan City, reached the hospital and took information about the health condition of the injured.
