Sweltering heat in Lumbini Province, people urged for caution

Kathmandu: In the wake of sweltering heat, especially in Terai belt and Lumbini Province, the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, has urged people to stay at home.

Both the minimum and maximum temperatures in most parts of country witnessed gradual rise for some days. Some of the places recorded over 40 degree Celsius temperature.

The Department requested everyone to maintain precaution for some days as the temperature could still rise.

Issuing a special bulletin on heat wave on Saturday, the Department said we need to be aware that even the hilly gorges and valleys were likely to have increased temperature for five days.

The heat wave cause fatigue, extreme thirst, headache, cramp, dizziness, faint, muscle pain, nausea, vomiting and headache. The Department has suggested wearing thin cotton clothes, and donning cap if it is urgent to go outside.

Similarly, high liquid intake is strongly suggested. People are further urged to consult medical persons in case of severity.
