Sherpa’s detention extended for two more days

Kathmandu: The police have been permitted to keep in detention former lawmaker Ang Tawa Sherpa for two more days to continue investigation. He was arrested on charge of involving in an organized fraud- fake Bhutanese refugee scam.

Superintendent of Police Sita Ram Rijal at District Police Sector, Kathmandu informed that the District Court allowed two more days detention of lawmaker Sherpa for investigation.

After he was named in connection with the scam, Sherpa himself appeared before the Kathmandu Police Sector on Monday.

The police have continued investigation on 14 persons, including former Deputy Prime Minister Top Bahadur Rayamajhi and former Home Minister Balkrishna Khand in connection with the fake Bhutanese refugee scam.
