Chief Minister Pandey wins vote of confidence

Gandaki: Chief Minister of the Gandaki Province, Surendra Raj Pandey has secured vote of confidence in the Gandaki province assembly. In today’s meeting of the province assembly, he secured 35 votes in favour of his proposal seeking vote of confidence.

He received support from 27 province assembly members of the Nepali Congress, seven of the CPN (Maoist Centre) and one of the CPN (Unified Socialist). Twenty two province assembly members from the CPN-UML voted against the proposal while two members from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party stayed neutral.

Pandey who was appointed the chief minister of the province on April 27 took oath of office and secrecy on April 28. In a press meet after securing vote of confidence, CM Pandey said he would engage his efforts to give full shape to the council of ministers in consultation with coalition parties.

Preparation for upcoming year policy and programme was underway, he shared.
