Truck knocks down three in Tanahun

Damauli: Three persons, including a minor died when a truck knocked them near Bandipur-5, Andhikhola in Tanahun along the Prithvi Highway on Wednesday.

Those critically injured in the accident died while undergoing treatment at Old Medical College, Bharatpur. The deceased have been identified as Ayush Bhujel, 12, Chet Bahadur Gharti, 50, and San Bahadur Bhujel of Bandipur-1, police informed.

The incident took place when the truck (Na 4 Kha 1973) en route to Muglin from Dumre hit the house of Sunmaya Bhujel nearby road side after losing its control. Likewise, other injured – six-year-old Ayusa Bhujel, 10-year-old Jasmin Bhujel, 10-year-old Ishwor Bhujel, eight-year-old Sagar Bhujel and five-year-old Santosh Bhujel –are receiving treatment.

The Prithvi Highway that was brought to a grinding halt over the issue of accident has reopened since this afternoon, informed Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of Tanahun, Mohan Bahadur Khand.
