Kathmandu: Chief Whip of the main opposition CPN (UML), Padam Giri, has drawn the attention of the government to the ‘mistreatment’ meted out to UML Chair and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli during his visit to Bhadrapur, Jhapa.

Speaking in today’s meeting of the House of Representatives, he expressed his concerns about the incident wherein he said some groups of people made uproars and tried to hurl stones at Oli on his way to Budhabare to address an event.

Similarly, Bijula Rayamajhi and Gagan Kumar Thapa called the attention of the Ministry of Home Affairs to the killing of a businessperson Nira Pandey, who ran a utensils shop at Saraswati Nagar in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-6, a week ago demanding an arrest of the people behind the incident immediately. Thapa suggested the installation of CCTV cameras in the whole Kathmandu Valley, not only in the security sensitive areas.
