Damauli: Local levels in Tanahun district has launched the issuance of labour permit, relieving service seekers of hassles in visiting city areas for the service. Labour permit is issued through the employment centre at the respective local levels following the direction by the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security, it has been said. Earlier, the people in the district had to go to Pokhara or Kathmandu for the service.
Bandipur Rural Municipality has launched the facility on Wednesday. “Service seekers had to face difficulties in getting to elsewhere for the service. It would be costlier for them as well. But, getting the service at the local level has been relatively easier,” said Sharan Singh Gurung, employment coordinator at the rural municipality.
For the service, one has to produce a passport and visa related documents. The centre facilitates in getting labour permit approved based on the documents produced, he said. To avail the service, one has to pay for the social security fund, the foreign employment welfare fund and insurance, he said, adding that the centre also facilitates in making the payments. One has to pay Rs 1,500 for the foreign employment welfare fund, a minimum of Rs 2,000 for the social security fund, and certain amount of rupees for insurance, according to him. Similarly, Aanbukhaireni Rural Municipality is also providing the service.
