Newly appointed ministers administered oath in Bagmati Province

Hetauda: Newly appointed ministers in Bagmati Province have been administered oath of office and secrecy on Sunday. Chief of Bagmati Province, Yadav Chandra Sharma, administered them the oath amidst a function on Sunday evening.

Chief Minister Shalik Ram Jammakattel had appointed Bahadur Singh Lama and Tritha Lama of Nepali Congress as the Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning, and Minister for Drinking Water, Energy and Irrigation, respectively. The Cabinet was expanded as per Article 168 (9) of Constitution of Nepal.

Jammakattel had been appointed Chief Minister from the alliance comprising CPN UML, Maoist Centre, RPP and Hamro Nepali Party on January 9. He had formed a three-member Cabinet the next day in which UML leaders Jagannath Thapaliya and Uddhav Thapa were appointed Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning, and Minister for Drinking Water, Energy and Irrigation, respectively.

Similarly, after he got vote of confidence on January 18, he inducted three more ministers in the Cabinet. But, RPP withdrew support to the government on February 25 and its ministers resigned from the post.

Later on March 24, the day Chief Minister Jammakattel was facing floor test second time, the UML had quit government by voting against him. The Nepali Congress voted in his favour and joined the government.
