Kathmandu: CPN (UML) leader Subas Chandra Nembang, who was one of the two contenders for the post of the President, said that he accepts the results of the presidential election wholeheartedly.
Talking to the media after NC leader Ram Chandra Poudel was elected the new president in the election held today, he said anyone who believes in a democracy should believe in competition.
“My friend Poudelji has been elected to a respectable position like the President, I congratulate him and extend my best wishes for a successful tenure,” he said.
Stating that an important phase has passed with the presidential election, the former Speaker said the process of the election in an important pillar of democracy.
Emphasizing that the role of the president should be successfully handled according to the constitution and the law, Nembang assured full support and cooperation from his side to President-elect Poudel.
