Kathmandu: Adverse weather in the wake of sudden rainfall across many parts of the country affected several domestic and international flights on Sunday.
According to Teknath Sitaula, Spokesperson at Tribhuvan International Airport, low visibility owing to bad weather impacted the flights.
Sitaula informed that international flights of Vistara and Indigo Air were diverted to Lucknow while the Qatar Airways’ airplane was kept on hold in the sky for a while.
Similarly, in the domestic flight, two flights to and from Bharatpur in Chitwan district were canceled while flights to some destinations were delayed briefly.
There was a light to moderate rainfall coupled with thunderstorm and lightning in various parts of the country due to the influence of the westerly wind, according to the Weather Forecasting Division.
