UML seeks other parties’ support for presidential election

Kathmandu: The CPN (UML) has sent a formal letter to all political parties except the Nepali Congress (NC) seeking support for its candidate in the presidential election.

Secretary of CPN (UML) central office Dr Bhishma Adhikari shared that the party has written to all parties and the independent MPs except the NC requesting them to support Subas Chandra Nembang, the UML’s presidential candidate, in the upcoming election to the president.

Adhikari stated that UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has written to the CPN (Maoist Centre), CPN (Unified Socialist), Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP), Rastriya Swatantra Party, Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Janamat Party, Nagarik Unmukti Party and other political parties’ chiefs and the independent lawmakers to vote for Nembang in the presidential election.

In its letter, the UML has stated that Nembang is a qualified and appropriate candidate for the post of the president as per the norms and spirit of the Constitution of Nepal. UML has filed nomination of its Vice-Chairman Nembang for the presidential election.
