Former Health Minister Shrestha no more

Kathmandu: Former Health Minister Prof Dr Mathura Prasad Shrestha passed away this morning. He was 88. Suffering from asthma and respiratory complications since long, Shrestha breathed his last at Maitighar-based Annapurna Neuro Hospital, said Shrestha’s son, Dr Jaya Shrestha.
Civil rights activist Shrestha had served as the Minister for Health after the democratic movement of 1990. He is survived by six sons and a daughter. Shrestha’s last rites would be performed at Pashupati Aryaghat on Tuesday.
