UML decides to strengthen ruling coalition

Kathmandu: The CPN UML has decided to further strengthen the current ruling alliance. The secretariat meeting of the party held at its central office on Thursday decided to move ahead by keeping the existing ruling alliance intact for the country’s political stability and economic reforms, UML leader Gagan Bista said.

Concluding that the current government formed at the initiative of the UML has aroused excitement on people, the party stated that country’s economic and other sectors had posted positive signs after the formation of this government.

Likewise, the party has decided to run a two-month-long ideological and organizational strengthening campaign from February 13. Bista informed that the party had decided to conduct orientation programme in all seven provinces on February 17.

Similarly, today’s meeting assigned party standing committee member Dr Binda Pandey as the chief of Economic and Planning Department. The post was lying vacant after its chief Ghanshyam Bhusal quit the party before the general election.

Likewise, Rajendra Gautam is named as the party’s in-charge in Province-1 while Parbat Gurung as the in-charge of party’s section looking after issues of disability and Shila Yadav as the in-charge of Dhanusha district. Party Chairman KP Sharma Oli addressed the secretariat meeting and shared his views about the contemporary political situation of the country and party’s future plan of actions.
