Litterateurs Mukarung, Ojha feted
Panchthar: Literary figures Shrawan Mukarung and Prem Ojha have been felicitated with this year’s Amar Nembang Limbu Memorial Literary Award.
Amar Nembang Limbu Memorial Foundation has been honouring the literary personalities every year with the cash prize of Rs 50,000. Litterateurs Mukarung and Ojha were honoured amid a function organized by the Foundation and Yakthung Writers Association in Phidim on Thursday.
The Foundation was established in memory of late Amar Kumar Nembang, the first chairperson of the Phalgunanda Rural Municipality in Panchthar district.
Born in Bhojpur district, Mukarung is a noted literary personality, while Ojha is involved in literary works, teaching and social service in Panchthar district itself.
After receiving the honour, Mukarung said that he was elated to receive the honour established under the name of towering personality like Amar Kumar Nembang. On the occasion, poet Samadarshi Kainla’s ‘Naya Ishwarko Avatar’, an anthology of poems, was also released.
