Home Minister Ravi Lamichhane instructs to re-investigate Nirmala’s rape and murder case

Kathmandu: Nirmala Panta, a 13-year-old girl from Kanchanpur, Nepal, was found raped and murdered in a sugarcane field near her home on 27 July 2018, after she had gone missing the day before. The news of the incident went viral on social media and received widespread condemnation.

The police have re-investigated the murder case of Nirmala Pant, a 13-year-old girl who was murdered after being raped in Kanchunpur.

The investigation was started after the instructions of Newly appointed Home Minister Ravi Lamichhane.

The police have collected the samples of two people suspected of being involved in the incident. The police informed that both of them are Indians.

A team led by DIG Durga Singh along with physicians has been deployed at the spot for investigation.
