Kathmandu: Shalikram Jammakattel has been picked as the CPN (Maoist)’s parliamentary party leader in the Bagmati province.
A meeting of the party attended by top leaders, including Bagmati province in-charge has nominated Jammakattel as the parliamentary party leader of the CPN (MC) in the province.
Earlier too, he was the parliamentary party leader. He is still serving the province as the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning.
Province Assembly member Yubaraj Dulal informed that the Maoist Centre’s politburo member Jammakattel was picked as the parliamentary party leader after a two-day rigorous discussion.
Jammakattel was elected as the Bagmati province assembly member from Dhading constituency-1 (2) with 19,929 votes.
CPN (MC)’s Bagmati province chair Saral Sajayatri had also claimed for the parliamentary party leader of the province. The party has 21 members in the Bagmati province assembly.
