623 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed in Nepal in 24 hours

Kathmandu : The country added 623 new COVID-19 cases with zero infection related death in the past 24 hours.

The caseloads were from the total 4,945 tests (1,621 PCR and 3,324 antigen), according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

During the same period, 487 infected people have been free of the deadly virus, totaling the figure at 977,845 so far, while 10,990 people were vaccinated against the infection.

The recovery rate was 98.3 percent and infection rate 17 percent. The number of active infection cases has reached 5,024 with 3,324 in the Kathmandu Valley alone (2,443 in Kathmandu, 801 in Lalitpur and 80 in Bhaktapur).

The death toll from the virus has reached 11,990 so far. At present, 4,834 infected people are in home-isolation and 190 in institutional isolation. Similarly, 49 infected ones have been admitted to intensive care units and six on ventilator support.

The districts reporting nil infection cases at present are Manang, Mustang, Kalikot, Humla, Dolpa, Jumla and Mugu.
