542 new cases COVID-19 confirmed in Nepal

Kathmandu : The country has reported 542 new cases of COVID-19 with no COVID-19 related death in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Population. The caseloads were from a total of 4,930 tests (2,082 PCR and 2,840 antigen) carried out in various laboratories across the country.

During the same period, 421 infected people have been free of the infection totaling the figure at 977,358 so far. The recovery rate is 98.3 percent, according to the Ministry. The number of active cases has hit 5,265 with 3,482 in the Kathmandu Valley.

So far, the death toll from the virus in the country is 11,990. At present, 5,067 infected people are in home-isolation and 198 in institutional isolation centres. Similarly, 54 have been admitted to intensive care units and seven are on ventilator support. The districts with zero infection cases are Panchthar, Manang, Kalikot, Humla, Dolpa, Jumla and Mugu. –RSS
