848 new cases of COVID-19 with one dead in Nepal

Kathmandu : The country has recorded 848 new cases of coronavirus cases from among 5,619 sample tests.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 526 infected ones recovered from the virus during the same period.

With this, the number of active cases has reached 5,259. Of them, 5,062 patients are in home isolation, 197 in institutional isolation centres and 68 patients are admitted to the ICU of various hospitals while four others are undergoing treatment with the help of ventilator.

Till today, Kathmandu and Lalitpur districts have more than 500 active cases of coronavirus infection while Kailali has more than 200 cases. Likewise, Manang, Kalikot, Mugu, Dolpa, Jumla and Humla have not even a single reported case of the virus.

Meanwhile, the Ministry said one person succumbed to the coronavirus today, taking the total death tally to 11,990.
Also today, 90,047 people received COVID vaccine, the Ministry stated. -RSS
